PAD PRINTING
- Pad printing is a great printing technique for plastics and odd-shaped items…..it was never designed for printing on textiles and garments
- Fibers get stuck onto the sponge…..resulting in having to apply tape onto the sponge in order to remove the fibres
- Pad printing will not give you the same opacity as screen printing will (especially on darker substrates)
- To print a bold white on a dark garment is not possible with pad printing.
- You are also very limited to size with Pad Printing
- The ink from pad printing has a very short shelf life and you end up wasting a lot in the end…..
- Plate making is more expensive than reburning screens for screen printing
- You are limited to one label per plate
